Easy Baked Apples

Makes 4 servings

4 large baking apples (2½ to 3 inch diameter)
4 t. red cinnamon candies OR
mix ¼ c. raisins, ¼ c. walnuts, cinnamon and sugar to taste.

1. Core apples without cutting through bottom skin and peel about 1" strip of skin from stem end of each apple. If necessary cut a thin slice from bottom of each apple so it will stand upright.

2. Arrange apples in shallow baking dish. Place equal portion of filling in center of each apple.

 

Baking instructions:

Microwave on HIGH until apples are tender, 4-6 minutes. Rearrange apples once while cooking. OR

Bake in conventional oven at 375 until tender, 30-40 minutes.
